Getting Married

February 20, 2014 Valerie Ribeiro

Well my friends, it is finally here! I am in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and in less than 24 hours, on a beautiful beach I will be marrying the love of my life. I feel like I have been waiting for this day for a long while. I am so very excited, and overwhelmed with jubilation and anticipation.

Planning our day has been simple once we selected a venue. Our wedding will be intimate, sharing our day with 26 members of our family and dearest friends. The resort has been lovely and very detailed. They have tailored a special menu for us, coordinated the Spanish guitar soloist and are making George’s favorite cake, Tres Leches (three milk), I feel so spoiled!

Tomorrow I will be walking down the sand in Cabo with my dad as he gives me away to my beloved George. My darling Haley will be my MOH (Maid of Honor). I was so excited to see her, as she traveled all the way from college in Texas to fulfill her role. Haley said to me when she was a little girl, "Mommy, if you ever marry I want to be your MOH."

When I started dating George five years ago Haley suggested I make my "specialty dish"- Linguine with seafood. "This," she stated, "will be the trick to get him to fall in love with you.” I love thinking back on those little comments that can stay with you forever.

I will share photos upon my return.
