Spring is a glorious, spiritual and happy time of year for me. In fact, Easter is my FAVORITE holiday next to Valentine's Day! Just like autumn, spring is a feeling of rejuvenation and renewal for me. After the time change, the longer days make me feel energized to accomplish all sorts of tasks like working out more, cooking wonderful meals, gardening and breathing new life into my home and office with small and thoughtful changes.
Sometimes, it’s the little sentiments or small changes that make the biggest difference. Fresh flowers and fruit are one of my favorite decorating tools. I continuously keep fresh flowers in my home and a big bowl of fresh fruit (preferably lemons, limes and oranges) on the counter. I love citrus hues in spring plus it stirs the feeling of health, energy and vitamin C all of which just makes you feel so good and so healthy. Adding fresh fruit, fresh cut flowers and plants add an instant pop of color and liveliness to any room.
I never overlook the outside of my home either. When springtime rolls around, I love to enliven my front porch and make it welcoming as well. I like to change out the wreath on my front door to something cheerful and happy. This year, I added a couple of brightly colored orange pots to my front porch full of colorful ranunculus for an extra pop of color to greet my guest. I believe we only get one real, first and lasting impression so I feel like the entrance of a home is really setting the foreground to creating a lasting impression.
Happy Spring & Happy Designing!
